Environmental Science (Master of Science)

Through this accelerated program, students will learn advanced professional skills in environmental research, planning and policy, while gaining a deeper understanding of environmental social justice. Students will be well-qualified to enter fields such as environmental monitoring and assessment, environmental consulting, climate change adaptation and planning, wildlife and natural resource management, and environmental advocacy. The 4+1 M.S. in Environmental Science also prepares students to pursue a doctorate degree or a career in environmental consulting, municipal, state and federal resource agencies, or nonprofit environmental organizations.

Degree Structure and Experience
Students entering the Environmental Science 4+1 M.S. program would need to have taken the following courses prior to their senior year.
The Master of Science in Environmental Science would consist of a total of 8 courses (32 credit hours) in the following structure.
- Two courses from undergraduate studies would be counted towards the degree.
- Two mentored field research experience over the summer following graduation, paired with an online summer course on advanced data analysis for the thesis
- Four courses taken the fifth year (2 Fall, 2 Spring)
