CI 625 - Production Culture

This course takes as its premise that the way media is made affects the final product. We’ll investigate how production processes—from labor practices to the politics of writers’ rooms—affect what stories get made, how those stories look/feel, and how they’re discussed within media industries.The course will focus on screen-based media industries, but will help students reflect more broadly on how the cultures of executive suites, film sets, and streaming services shape the media we consume.
