PHYS 250 - Research Experience in Physics This course provides an introduction to research methods in physics, astronomy, and related sciences. We will focus on unsolved problems to motivate students to design experiments that may provide clues towards improving our understanding of these problems. We will work in groups to obtain new data based on our experimental design. The groups will critically assess the limitations of the data, determine uncertainties in the obtained data, and assess the validity of underlying physical models. Students will apply their introductory physics knowledge to approach real-world physics research problems.
Prerequisites PHYS 171 Introductory Physics II or PHYS 180 Enhanced Introductory Physics I or PHYS 181 Enhanced Introductory Physics II
