PHIL 321 - Resisting Structural Injustice This seminar investigates existing structural injustices, how they reproduce themselves, and what it takes to effectively resist them. What does it mean to say that injustice is structural or systemic? Is capitalist exploitation a form of structural domination? Are race-specific or maximally inclusive remedies needed for achieving racial justice in the United States? How does patriarchy shape women’s experiences and perpetuate itself? If our agency is constituted by structures, how can we resist and bring about social change?
Prerequisites One course in Philosophy; PHIL 121 or PHIL 298 - Philosophy of Race is highly recommended.
