GER 303 - Deutsche Märchen und Brauchtum This course examines the role of folktales and fairy tales in cultural, socio-political, as well as economic contexts. Students will identify the main structural components of German fairy tale narratives and investigate their influences on the emotional development of young adults, on the formation of traditional gender roles, as well as the means by which fairy tale and folk motifs are transferred to other media, such as the Disney animations, or in K-pop music and K-drama. Taught in GERMAN.
Prerequisites GER 202 Intermediate German II or equivalent or Permission of Instructor
