Individual and Society - 20092
The Individual and Society Connection centers on the basic truth that human beings are social in nature and that we live in societies as a result of this basic motivation to be
together. Students will learn about what it means to be both individuals and members of a larger community. Shared topics include how individuals and culture influence one another through such phenomena as social norms and social contracts. While learning about these topics, students will develop an appreciation of the contrasting methods that the Humanities and the Social Sciences use in answering analogous questions.
