Global Cultures and Languages

The Global Cultures and Languages major (GCL) offers students the opportunity to study the narratives, traditions, histories and contemporary realities of global communities. The major combines foundational language and culture coursework with interdisciplinary exploration of global themes such as representation, migration and cultural identity. Students in the Global Cultures and Languages major develop a critical appreciation for the complexities of culture and gain the tools to navigate an increasingly interconnected world. Language learning, anthropological insights, cross-cultural communication skills, critical thinking and interdisciplinary analysis, equip students to engage thoughtfully with diverse global communities, fostering informed, empathetic, and adaptable global citizens ready to make meaningful contributions in any professional context.
