Race and Medical Humanities Minor

Students pursuing this minor will engage in interdisciplinary study centering upon concepts of race, racialized discourses, social determinants of health, health disparities, equity, fairness, justice, inequality, racial discrimination and bias within healthcare. The overarching goal of the minor in Race and Medical Humanities is to develop our students’ knowledge of the myriad intersections among race, medicine, and health as rendered through histories, philosophies, narratives, and other textual renderings of these discourses.

Required Courses:


Students must complete 20 credits from the offerings below.  No more than two courses may be at the 100-level and must be from at least two different disciplines.
