Biology Major

The major in Biology consists of a minimum of 46 credits.

A minimum of five Lab Experience courses must be completed in the Major, at least one of which must be at the 300-level.

At least four credits, beyond the 100-level, must be taken from each area (Cells/Molecules, Organisms, and Systems).

Four credits that meet the Biology major quantitative requirement

BIO 241 - Biological Data Analysis
MATH 101 - Calculus I
MATH 104 - Calculus II
MATH 141 - Introductory Statistics
MATH 151 - Introduction to Data Science
Approval of Department Chair for alternative courses

Twenty additional credits:

Eight additional BIO credits at the 200-level
Twelve 300-level BIO credits (at least one course with a lab)

Only one course may be overlapped between this major and a second major, or between a major and a minor.

A course taken at Wheaton College that receives a grade of “Pass” (P) may not be used to fulfill a requirement in the major, except under special circumstances.
