Russian Studies Major

The major consists of a minimum of 36 credits. Of these, at least twelve credits to be at the 300-level or above. Exceptions may be approved by the Department Chair.

Senior Seminar or Capstone

With permission of the department, the Senior Seminar can be replaced with another equivalent capstone experience, as long as the student has taken a minimum of nine courses. A capstone experience is required of all Wheaton students and may be accomplished through course work, research or other projects.

Exceptions for courses may be approved by the Department Chair. For example, students looking for a more interdisciplinary selection for Russian Literature and Culture courses may request to count one or, exceptionally, two related courses from affiliated programs such as HIST 215 History of Russia or MUSC 311 Western Music II: Classical, Romantic, Modern .
