Visual Art Major

The Visual Arts Major consists of at least 48 semester credits.
Whether entering with foundational skills or advanced knowledge, the Visual Art program welcomes all students. Before declaring the major, students must attend a portfolio workshop and submit a portfolio of their work to the department prior to the end of their sophomore year. Workshops are held and portfolios are accepted every semester. For questions please contact the department chair.

Twelve credits in foundation courses:
Foundation courses must be taken at Wheaton and completed prior to senior year. Eight History of Art credits chosen from:
Must be completed prior to senior year. Twenty additional credits chosen from:
Four credits must be at the 300-level Senior Capstone Experience
Note:
The program recommends that students take no more than two studio-based courses in a given semester. |
