The minor in African Diaspora Studies offers a flexible path for students interested in exploring the creative and intellectual contributions of Africans and people of African descent throughout the diaspora. To complete the minor, you’ll need 20 credits—earned by taking 5 approved courses, with at least one at the 300-level. You can choose courses based on your interests from a wide range of offerings across departments and programs. You’re encouraged and invited to take our winter course in South Africa, AFDS 201 - Witnessing Contemporary African Society .
