Finance Major - B.S.

This major is offered to students who want to specialize in Finance. As with all academics at Wheaton, this major ensures a solid foundation of skills and knowledge while allowing each student to shape it to fit their desires. It also prepares them to work across several different types of careers in finance, accounting, and the global financial industry. Students would complete MGMT401 Senior Seminar as their capstone course and will be required to complete an internship as part of their degree requirements.

The major consists of 52 credits and an internship.

MATH 151 Introduction to Data Science
- students who have taken a Statistics course (MATH/MGMT/SOC/PSY 141) are required to take COMP 115 Problem Solving and Python Programming in lieu of MATH 151)

Internship

As a Finance major, you will be required to participate in at least one internship experience as part of the requirements for the major. The required internship will expand your understanding of Finance. The internship that counts towards this requirement must be approved by the department chair in advance.

Prerequisites before you participate in the required internship:

MGMT 111 Fundamentals of Business

And at least one of the following courses:
