Biology Major

Major requirements
The major in Biology consists of a minimum of 46 credits. A minimum of five Lab Experience courses must be completed in the Major, at least one of which must be at the 300-level. At least one course, beyond the 100-level, must be taken from each area (Cells/Molecules, Organisms, and Systems). Two Chemistry courses, each with a lab
One course that meets the Biology major quantitative requirement
Additional courses
- Two additional 200-level Biology courses
- Three 300-level Biology courses (at least one with a lab)
Capstone
One of the following: Policy for Biology Department concerning double majors and minors involving Biology
If you choose to double-major or to major-and-minor in two bioscience disciplines (Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Neuroscience, and Environmental Science), only one course may be overlapped between those majors or major-and-minor. Please note that it may not be possible to double-major in closely related majors. You should consult with your major advisor about your specific circumstances. Please also see the college policy regarding sharing courses between majors and minors. |
