POLS 198 - Fundamentals of Politics This course uses a combination of political philosophy and contemporary political science scholarship to take an in-depth look at 10 foundational ideas in politics that are important today, including constitutionalism, liberalism and the social contract. Students will read Aristotle, Locke and Tocqueville as well as recent scholarship and political news. This course emphasizes U.S. examples in relation to political philosophy.
