BIO 398 - Conservation Science This course is designed to give students interested in careers in conservation, ecology or environmental science a solid foundation in the science, theory and practice that underlies our attempts to conserve biological diversity. We will focus on the social and ecological consequences of loss of species and changes in ecosystems and the practical and interdisciplinary methods used to study and conserve biodiversity. Students will gain experience monitoring diversity in the field, talk with conservation professionals from around the state, and read, synthesize, and discuss scientific literature.
