EDUC 375 - Issues in Early Care and Education This course examines complex issues determining and affecting the quality of early care and education for young children. Current research related to notions of childhood, learning through guided play, social-emotional indicators, diverse family structures, the early childhood workforce and industry and state/ national/ and international policies will be explored. Components of the Massachusetts Professional Standards for Teachers will be discussed: Curriculum, Planning, and Assessment; Teaching All Students; Family and Community Engagement; and Professional Culture. Students choose among several options for off-site observations.
