BIO 370 - Biology of Fungi Fungi are everywhere! This course will introduce students to the biology of the Kingdom Fungi and other eukaryotic organisms traditionally classified with the fungi. Students will engage with scientific data to discover how these organisms challenge traditional assumptions about multicellular life. They will also engage with fungi in local forest environments and in human systems. While many fungi are crucial for food and biotechnology, others can cause disease in humans and other animals. This course will include a hands-on laboratory in which each student will observe diverse fungi and produce a final project on a fungus from their own environment.
