PHYS 370 - Quantum Mechanics

The principles of quantum mechanics: observables, operators, expectation values, the uncertainty principle, eigenvalue equations, operator algebra, Dirac notation, angular momentum and spin. Matrix mechanics applied to spin systems, including systems with more than one particle. Wave mechanics applied to scattering, tunneling, harmonic oscillator, and two-body systems, including central force systems such as the hydrogen atom.

PHYS 225 and minimum one year of Calculus or Permission of Instructor
