PHYS 311 - Classical Mechanics

Advanced topics dealing with classical mechanical systems including single particle motion, oscillations in one and two dimensions, two-body systems, planetary motion, and gravitation. Conservation laws, calculus of variations and Lagrange’s and Hamilton’s formulation of equations of motion, and motion in noninertial reference frames.

(PHYS 170 or PHYS 180) and MATH 101 or Permission of Instructor`
