The first section, taught by Deyonne Bryant, delves into the memoirs of influential Black women poets, illuminating the pivotal experiences that define their personal narratives and literary contributions. The second section, led by Ada McKenzie Thomas, explores the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual journeys of Black women writers. It focuses upon the dynamics of health and healing in the lives of women of African descent, and the manner in which such dynamics are rendered in the context of their historical and contemporary experiences in the world.
