ENG 241 - Modern Drama In this course we will read mind-blowing 20th century plays from around the globe that revolutionized not only the shape of the dramatic form but broke with the norms of acceptable content for the public to view onstage. If you’ve been primarily exposed to the plays of Shakespeare, Arthur Miller, Tennessee Williams, and maybe a few others, you will find in this course a whole new world of dramatic literature that challenges political systems and the status quo of social conformity. These plays can be outrageous, funny, tragic, and downright anarchic – sometimes all at once!
