BIO 291 - Introduction to Marine Mammals This course is an introduction to the biology and natural history of marine mammals, with an emphasis on species found in the North Atlantic. Students will explore the taxonomy, evolution, anatomy and physiology, adaptations, behavior, and ecology of pinnipeds, sirenians, and cetaceans. We will also examine the relationships of marine mammals with humans, through topics such as marine mammals in human culture, whaling and sealing, and current conservation issues.
Prerequisites BIO 114 Introduction to the Biological Sciences or AP/IB Biology credit.

Notes This course is limited to Sophomores and above.
