PSY 398 - The Development of Thinking This course will cover the cognitive aspects of thinking from early childhood through adolescence. Broadly, we will examine reasoning and comprehension processes. There will be an emphasis on cognitive monitoring particularly how individuals regulate and reflect on their own thinking and scientific reasoning such as evidence evaluation. Additionally, this course will explore the real world implications of various cognitive errors. We will cover the theories and empirical findings related to these topics as well as work to further understand reasoning and critical thinking skills throughout development.
