PH 298 - Public Health as a Profession Public health is a diverse, interdisciplinary field that works across a wide range of medical, social, and political spheres. This course is designed to provide advanced students in the Public Health major or minor an opportunity to synthesize key theories, methods, and ideas of public health with a focus on how these are applied to current and emerging public health issues. Students will explore professions across different disciplines within the field, including health policy, epidemiology, environmental health, social determinants of health, health education, and community health advocacy. Additionally, principles of health ethics and social justice will be integrated throughout the course in order to foster a commitment to equity in public health research and practice.
