DES 298 - History: Furniture & Interiors Through a series of selected thematic investigations this course will consider the historical role that furniture and furniture designers have played in the generation and reflection of culture; the formation of individual identity; and the shaping of style and commerce. Considering works from antiquity to the modern era, along with the environments for which they were intended, we will place special emphasis on the period that spans the eighteenth century to the contemporary era.
