DMC 198 - Information and Communication Technologies This course introduces students to various forms of information and communication technologies, including print, radio, film, broadcast television, the internet, social media, streaming media, and mobile media. Students will gain understanding of the uses, affordances, and challenges of these various communication technologies. Students will examine the historical, conceptual, theoretical, and practical aspects of today’s global media environment. Though specific areas of focus will vary from year to year, students will engage topics such as content creation, conventions of specific platforms and media formats, propaganda, and emerging media technologies.
