BIO 398 - Mycology Fungi are everywhere! This course will introduce students to the basic biology of the Kingdom Fungi, plus some other eukaryotic organisms traditionally classified with the fungi. Students will learn about fungi in the natural world, including their important role in forest environments. They will also study fungal interactions with human beings: while many fungi are crucial for food and biotechnology, others can cause disease in humans and other animals. This course will include a hands-on laboratory in which students will interact with diverse fungi.
