AFDS 215 - Black Feminist Thought and Action This course will examine black feminist frameworks and approaches to thinking about themes such as gender and race, love and sexuality, labor and activism, and memory and witnessing. By focusing on these interweaving themes, students will learn some of the major intellectual contributions offered by black feminist traditions. Emphasis will be placed on black feminisms from the United States, but the course will incorporate voices from other countries. This course offers students the opportunity to examine and engage black feminist texts so that they can clarify and explore their relationship to black feminism.
