ENG 101 - Writing About Multicultural Lives

What is multiculturalism? In the United States right now, it seems to be a code word for race or perhaps for immigration. But what other factors enter into being part of a culture? What different cultural groups do we identify ourselves with, and how is that determined? In this course, we’ll look at different aspects of culture, including race, and see how we can use these discussions as springboards for our own writing. This course will have elements of traditional lecture and discussion combined with small group discussion and hands-on writing.
