ART 116 - Drawing I This course introduces drawing as a practice of observation, analysis, and expression. We explore the fundamentals of line, shape, value, proportion and perspective through a variety of drawing techniques. Working primarily from direct perception, we will explore objects, landscape and the human figure. We emphasize the breadth of the drawing experience and its application across disciplines. Drawing I develops technical proficiency as a path to conceptual development, and prepares students for further study in visual art.
