NURS 300 - Population Health: Maternity This course focuses on nursing care of childbearing families using nursing and developmental theories. Biopsychosocial factors, legal/ethical, cultural, and educational considerations related to pregnancy, birth, and newborn periods are included. An historical overview of obstetrical advances and parent-child nursing are presented. Practice in providing nursing care to families during each phase of the childbearing cycle occurs in local hospitals and clinics. Clinical experiences will encompass care of the normal and high-risk family in both acute and community settings.
Prerequisites NURS 210 Population Health: Medical Surgical I
Corequisites NURS 310 Population Health: Medical Surgical II
