NURS 200 - Fundamentals of Nursing and Health Assessment Fundamentals of Nursing and Health Assessment introduces the student to the clinical skills and assessment techniques necessary to provide care to patients across the lifespan. This course provides an introduction to nursing and the roles of the nurse. Concepts related to nursing care are integrated throughout the course. Emphasis is placed on the knowledge and skills needed to provide safe, high-quality care. The laboratory and simulation center will afford practical experience in the application of the principles and skills taught in the theory portion of this class. Students will be expected to demonstrate beginning competency in the application of the nursing process, nursing skills, and physical examination. Variations in nursing care for individuals of different socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds will be explored.
Prerequisites NURS 100 , BIO 105 , BIO 114 , BIO 203 , BIO 221 , and CHEM 153
Corequisites BIO 204 Human Anatomy and Physiology II

Notes There is a lab associated with this course worth 0.25 credits. Students must register for the lecture and lab.
