ENG 298 - Graphic Stories: Visual Storytelling from Memoir to Superheroes This course is tasked with defining and theorizing comics as a genre, medium, and culturally-informed art form. Readings will include the work of Naoko Takeuchi, considerations of the Batman mythos, research from Scott McCloud, as well as historical and multi-cultural perspectives on, what famed cartoonist Will Eisner called, “sequential art.” Planned assignments will be both critical and creative.
