POLS 198 - Evidence: Forensics & Experts
This course explores the Constitutional provisions, statutes and rules of court by which forensic and other evidence is admitted or excluded in both criminal as well as civil cases. Topics include forensic science evidence like DNA, relevance, hearsay, character evidence, impeachment, rape shield laws, the Confrontation and Compulsory Process Clauses of the Constitution, as well as qualifications and testimony of expert witnesses. Just as in law school, this course uses an actual law school casebook and the Socratic method of learning.
