HIST 298 - Revolutions: US, France, Haiti The United States, France, Haiti. In just thirty years between 1775 and 1804, the peoples of these three nations declared independence, overthrew monarchy, and each established a republic, two of them post-colonial. What did their revolutions have in common, and how was each distinctive? How were people’s experiences of political, economic, and social change inflected by their race, gender, and/or class?
