HIST 210 - African American History: 1877 to the Present This course follows the freed slaves and other African Americans from the end of Reconstruction through the institutionalization of segregation, the migrations north, life in urban America, the civil rights movement after World War II and the contemporary realities of race in the United States. Particular interest will be paid to cultural history, family life, gender roles and identity.
